I'm Chase Utley. I grew up in Spokane, went to Eastern, studied finance, and after graduating I did what a lot of people dream about — I opened my own business. An insurance agency, right here in town.
Honestly, the idea wasn't new to me. My biggest inspiration growing up was watching my dad run his own business. Seeing him build something from scratch, deal with the hard parts, and keep going — that stuck with me. It's a big part of why I wanted to do it myself.
Running my agency taught me something nobody prepares you for: having a great product isn't enough. You need people to know you exist, trust you enough to call, and come back after the first time. Getting that figured out took me years and cost real money in trial and error.
Eventually I got so focused on the customer acquisition and retention side of things that I realized that was the problem I actually wanted to solve — not just for myself, but for other business owners going through the same thing.
That's why I started KRU Markets. I'm not a marketing guy who's never run a business. I'm a Spokane business owner who learned how to market — and now I help others do the same.
